Course Overview
This online CPD accredited course will be of interest to any healthcare professional who immunises children or adults, or advises on immunisation, and also wishes to update their Basic Life Support and Anaphylaxis knowledge.
This online course is made up of three components: Vaccination Programme, Basic Life Support, and Anaphylaxis.
Vaccination is the term given to treatment with a vaccine to produce immunity against an infection or disease. Immunisation programmes are among the most successful public health measures and in some instances, they have resulted in the eradication of infectious diseases, such as in the case of smallpox. The Vaccination Programme is designed to update your knowledge of immunisations. The course consists of eight modules covering many aspects of the vaccination programme, including how the immune system and vaccines work, the anatomy of vaccination sites, and injection technique.
Basic Life Support has three modules, including topics such as adult and paediatric basic life support, how to manage choking, and video content demonstrating the role and safe operation of an AED.
Anaphylaxis has one module which describes how to recognise and manage the emergency treatment of anaphylaxis.
