Overview
As school teachers and leaders, the role you play in shaping the attitudes and behaviours of future generations cannot be overstated. Building a sustainable future begins with educating young minds on the long and short-term benefits of achieving net zero and how, as individuals, we all have a part to play in environmental, social, and economic change.
Building and delivering an eco-conscious curriculum helps to shape attitudes for the future. It also brings awareness around the ‘climate change conundrum’ into the school setting. Creating a sustainable school will challenge, inspire, and give context and relevance to all aspects of your school’s curriculum.
By the end of this course, you'll be able to:
- Explain the principles of sustainability and their relevance in the context of education
- Describe how to create engaging and interactive lesson plans that promote sustainable behaviours, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in students
- Recognise ways in which you can integrate sustainability concepts into teaching approachesto infuse environmental consciousness into the curriculum
