This course from Blocknorth gives HR and people professionals a clear, practical understanding of Microsoft 365 Copilot and how to use it well in HR work. No technical background is needed: you will learn where Copilot helps with job ads, policy drafting, onboarding and employee communications, how to prompt it for sensitive HR writing, and how to use it fairly, lawfully and with data protection front of mind.

  • Where Copilot appears in the tools HR uses most: Word, Outlook and Teams
  • How Copilot draws on your organisation's data, briefly, and the existing permissions model
  • Why HR data sensitivity raises the stakes for how you use it

Unit 2: Copilot for Everyday HR Tasks

  • Drafting and checking job adverts for inclusive language
  • Drafting, updating and summarising policy documents
  • Building onboarding materials and plain English guides for new starters
  • Everyday employee communications, from routine to sensitive

Unit 3: Prompting Copilot for HR Writing

  • Getting the audience and tone right for sensitive HR communications
  • Refining a draft policy rather than accepting the first version
  • Using an example of your own past writing to sound like yourself
  • What agents are, at a high level, and Agent Builder versus Copilot Studio

Unit 4: Fair, Lawful and Responsible Use in HR

  • Why Copilot must never make or automate a people decision
  • Checking drafted content for bias, especially in job ads and hiring adjacent writing
  • Data protection for personal and sensitive employee data
  • The regulatory picture at a high level, accountability and building the habit as a team
