Spinal Health for Onsite Workers eLearning Course
Overview
Manual handling can pose the risk of spinal injury, so it is important to understand proper form. This course covers manual handling techniques for basic lifting, carrying and lowering, as well as moving loads with or without equipment. It covers proper posture in conditions such as prolonged standing or driving work, and also offers a unit on key exercises that can be performed when taking breaks throughout the day.
Objectives
In this course you will:
- Demonstrate proper manual handling techniques, such as lifting, carrying, and setting down, among others
- Describe proper posture for standing work and for driving tasks
- Identify key exercises that can help workers stay healthy on their shifts
