Course Overview

This lesson explains the use of different formulae written in words and numbers to carry out calculations. It also explains the BIDMAS principle whilst calculating formulae.

The use of formulae is used day to day from gardeners using it to work out the area of a rectangular lawn to decorators using formulae to work out the number of rolls of wallpaper needed to paper a room. This lesson aims to provide learners with the knowledge and confidence to both understand and use relevant formulae. Explaining the use of different formulae written in words and numbers to carryout calculations. Utilising key words like formulae, substitution, expression, algebra and symbol this lesson showcases the use of data and information to carry out calculations to do with amounts or sizes, scales or proportion, handling statistics and using formulae. Providing an easy to use stepping stone to further the learning of each student.
