Course Overview

This course has been developed to provide an understanding of fire safety and how to use portable fire equipment to extinguish a fire.

This course focuses on fire safety in the workplace and is suitable for use in a fire safety training program for staff. Much of the course also applies to fire safety in the home

Learning Outcomes

This course will provide an understanding of:

• the basic characteristics of fire and the risk to life and property it poses
• how to respond to a fire emergency, and
• how to use portable fire equipment, which includes fire extinguishers, fire blankets and hose reels.

Target Audience

This course has been developed for all occupants working at a facility.
