Overview

This course will explore fresh terminology and changes to roles and responsibilities. E.g. the changes to the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 clarifies and extends the scope of the RRO in multi-occupied residential buildings, whilst also requiring updated risk assessments. The fire safety regulation updates define the fire safety instructions given to residents. Section 156 BSA identifies further requirements for responsible person, including recording arrangements and cooperating with others.

Objectives

When you have completed the content, you will be able to:

  • Recognise what elements make up a fire
  • Explain what measures and precautions can be taken to prevent and put out a fire
  • Discuss the different classifications of fires
  • Identify the various roles and responsibilities involved
  • Recognise the procedures needed for specific equipment and fire plans
