Mental Capacity Act eLearning Course
Overview
A person’s mental capacity is their ability to make their own decisions. Having mental capacity means that they are able to understand information and make an informed decision or choice.
The Mental Capacity Act 2005 (MCA) was introduced to protect adults who are unable to make decisions for themselves.
The MCA applies to everyone involved in the care, treatment and support of people.
This awareness level module has been developed to provide basic information on the MCA. It supports the Safeguarding Adults module.
