Overview

The equality legislation in the United Kingdom mostly comes from the Equality Act 2010. This act centralised previous pieces of legislation into a singular cohesive piece. In this course, we will explore this Act, and the key rights and responsibilities of employees within it. Everyone has a duty to uphold the principles of equality and diversity, and as a manager you have enhanced responsibilities. Are you meeting your legal requirements?

Objectives

In this course you will:

  • Recognise the basic principles of The Equality Act 2010
  • Understand the differences in The Equality Act 2010 between England/Wales/Scotland and Northern Ireland
  • Highlight the key rights and responsibilities of employees within the act including targeted information and guidance for managers
