Signs of Safety eLearning Course
Overview
To safeguard the students you work with, you need to understand how they feel about their experiences. You also need to make sure that their caregivers understand the risks a student faces and the changes that need to be made. How can you collaborate with students, their families, and other safeguarding professionals to take a child-centred approach?
The Signs of Safety framework can help you work effectively with everyone involved in keeping a student safe. It includes tools like the three houses to help you explore the child’s experiences and worries. These tools will help you understand what’s already helping to keep a student safe, and what needs improvement. You can use this information to help families gain insight into their child’s needs and to communicate openly with other safeguarding professionals.
Outline Learning Objectives:
- Recognise how to use the Three Houses tool to prioritise the child’s voice and experiences
- Identify how to use the Signs of Safety framework to map and assess concerns about a child’s welfare
