There are many different types of emotional abuse, and the signs will depend on the child’s age. Children may struggle to communicate what’s happening, too. So, it’s not always easy to identify or know what to do next.

Understanding what emotional abuse is, and the different forms it can take, helps you recognise and respond to it. And knowing what signs to look out for and how emotional abuse impacts children, helps you intervene in the best way.
