Neurodiversity Awareness eLearning Course
Overview
Everyone has their own unique way of seeing the world. These differences exist in all groups of people and are part of the natural neurodiversity present in human brains. Throughout history, scientists, engineers, musicians, and artists have used these differences to help them interpret their surroundings. But there’s one group of individuals you may not be aware of who are particularly unique in their thinking: neurodivergent people.
Neurodivergent people learn and engage with the world in ways that differ from neurotypical people. You need to treat all students as individuals, and this involves acknowledging and understanding their unique needs and experiences. If you have neurodivergent students in your class, they may need extra support in some areas. This course will show you how to provide this, so they can participate fully.
By the end of this course, you'll be able to:
- Explain the term neurodivergent and what conditions it encompasses
- List practical strategies to be able to be more inclusive for neurodivergent students
