Overview
This safeguarding awareness course is for all staff and students who come into contact with – or have occasional contact with – children or vulnerable adults as part of their work or placement.
This course explores the different types of abuse, your role in preventing abuse, as well as how to act if you have any concerns – or if abuse is disclosed to you. This way we can help to create a safe and happy educational environment for everyone.
Course Objectives
- Recognise the different types of abuse and exploitation
- Act on any issues or concerns you may have
- Prevent abuse from happening by making it as difficult as possible for potential abusers to operate
- Describe the signs of potential abuse or neglect
- Question any suspected abuse and explain the proper protocol for reporting this
- How to respond to disclosed abuse
- Explain risk enablement and its importance in empowering individuals to live as they choose
Audience
This course is aimed at individuals who work or interact with children or adults, or want to learn more about safeguarding.
