Course Overview

An ECG (electrocardiogram) is a recording of the electrical activity within the heart muscle. It is the most commonly performed cardiac test.

Practice in 12-lead ECG recording varies across the Health Service predominantly due to variations in training, personal experience and preferences as well as resources.

This short course, authored by Charles G Bloe BJN UK Cardiovascular Nurse of the Year 2020, aims to reduce such variation by ensuring that members of staff that perform 12-lead ECG recording and ECG Rhythm Recording do so using evidence-based information based on national approved guidelines issued by The Society for Cardiological Science & Technology (SCST).

This online training course was funded by an educational grant from Cardinal Health UK 432 Ltd. Whilst we appreciate the kind sponsorship of Cardinal Health UK, Charles Bloe Training Ltd do not recommend the use of any particular equipment
