Overview

It is estimated that over half a million children are abused in the UK each year.

Many children do not tell anyone about the abuse at the time because they are scared of the consequences or because they are unsure of who to tell or how to tell someone.

This module is an introduction to understanding what safeguarding children means and is aimed at learners with little or no prior knowledge.

This module is aimed at anyone who comes into contact with children and families in their everyday work, including those who do not have a specific role in relation to child protection.
