Overview

This CPD Certified eLearning course has been designed to provide the learner with an understanding of The Care Certificate Standard 9, which covers the awareness of mental health, dementia and learning disabilities within the health and social care sector. The course can be undertaken in any order and the learner must successfully pass the knowledge check to gain certification. The Care Certificate eLearning modules are designed to help you demonstrate knowledge and collect evidence required to complete the Care Certificate. These standards are the foundation of knowledge you need before you can work alone with the clients you will be supporting. Learning Outcomes

• To gain and understanding of the needs and experiences of people with mental health conditions, dementia or learning disabilities
• To gain and understanding of the importance of promoting positive health and wellbeing for an individual who may have a mental health condition, dementia or learning disability
• To gain and understanding of the adjustments which may be necessary in care delivery relating to an individual who may have a mental health condition, dementia or learning disability
• To gain and understanding of the importance of early detection of mental health conditions, dementia and learning disabilities
• To gain an understanding of legal frameworks, policy and guidelines relating to mental health conditions, dementia and learning disabilities
• To gain an understanding of mental capacity in relation to how care is provided
