Overview

This course will provide you with an understanding of what professional boundaries are and why they are necessary in the health and social care sector. It will also provide insight into how to approach "grey areas" as well as sources of advice and guidance.

You will be introduced to various scenario activities based on real-life situations to illustrate how professional boundaries might be crossed. Finally, you will learn how to identify when a professional boundary has been crossed and respond once you recognise this has taken place.

  • To gain an understanding of the boundaries that promote professionalism
  • To gain an understanding of the difference between person-centred care and professional boundaries

Course Structure

This course has been designed in a non-linear and modular fashion which means you may complete the units in any order you wish.

The course will track your progress so don’t worry if you have to dip in and out.  There will be a knowledge check at the end of course which will become available once you have completed all of the prescribed units.
