Overview

This course will provide you with an understanding of what care plans are and how they are used. It will also provide insight into care planning in line with legislation (such as the Mental Capacity Act) and how care plans promote person-centred support.

You will be introduced to the person-centred care planning cycle and various tools available for creating care plans (such as risk assessments). Finally, you will learn the importance of regularly and proactively reviewing care plans.

  • To gain an understanding of care plans and their use
  • To gain an understanding of the benefits of care plans and how they promote person-centred care
  • To gain an understanding of consent and communication when creating a care plan

Course Structure

This course has been designed in a non-linear and modular fashion which means you may complete the units in any order you wish.

The course will track your progress so don’t worry if you have to dip in and out.  There will be a knowledge check at the end of course which will become available once you have completed all of the prescribed units.
